Qualities of the Prophet (S.A.W)
The Prophet (S.A.W) grew up in the house of his uncle, Abu Twalib.
He was very hard working and patient.
He helped his uncle graze his animals.
The Prophet (S.A.W) was very obedient. He always asked his uncle
for permission before doing anything.
He was given the name Al-Amin. Al-Amin means trustworthy.
The Quraish left him their valuables due to his honesty and
trustworthiness.
He was very humble. He treated all people in a kind manner.

Teachings of the Hadith on Ihsaan
The term Ihsaan means goodness or doing good deeds.
Ihsaan helps us attain the fear of Allah (S.W.T).
We are encouraged to have good intentions in all forms of Ibadah
because Allah (S.W.T) is Al-Aliym the All-Knowing.
We should show our thankfulness to Allah (S.W.T) through Ibadah.
We cannot hide anything from Allah (S.W.T). He knows even what
is hidden in our hearts.
Any act of worship should be done to please Allah (S.W.T).
Ihsaan helps us to obey Allah (S.W.T) and His Prophet (S.A.W).

Hadith on Honesty
The Prophet (S.A.W) said,“Speak the truth even if it is bitter.’’
We should be honest in our business.
Teachings of the Hadith on Honesty
We should speak the truth at all times.
When we tell lies, we attract the anger of Allah (S.W.T).
Truthfulness leads to Paradise and lying leads to Hell Fire.
We should not lie even if we are likely to be punished.
Telling lies is a sign of a Munafiq (hypocrite).
Muslims should be truthful in their sayings. Truth guides us to
always do the right things.

The Prophet (S.A.W) said,“He is not one of us he who does not show
mercy to our young ones and does not respect the elders.

Islam is a religion of respect and gentleness.
Allah (S.W.T) loves those who show respect to the elders.
Respect should be shown even to the young ones.
We follow the teachings of the Prophet (S.A.W) by obeying and
respecting the elders.
We show respect to the elders by greeting them first.
We should not interfere with the discussions of elderly people.
We should give seats to elderly people as a sign of respect.

Qiyam
Qiyam means standing. During Qiyam, I recite Surah Al-Fatiha and

Rukuu
Rukuu means bowing. During Rukuu, I say ‘Subhana Rabiyal-Adheem’
(Glory be to Allah, the Great).

I’itidal
I’itidal is also called rising up. It is done after Rukuu.
I rise from Rukuu and say ‘Samia Allahu liman’ Hamida (Allah hears
the one who praises Him). During I’itidal, I say ‘Rabbana wa lakal

A masjid is a sacred place where Muslims worship Allah (S.W.T).
Masjid is the house of Allah (S.W.T) and should therefore be respected.
A Muslim enters the masjid with his or her right foot first as a sign of
respect and says,“Allahumma iftah liy abwaba rahmatika. The dua
means: ‘Oh Allah (S.W.T), open for me the doors of your mercy’.

1. Ask your local area Sheikh to explain to you the rights of a
Muslim to a fellow Muslim.
2. Write the dua of sneezing in Arabic.
3. With a friend, demonstrate the dua of sneezing.
When a Muslim sneezes, he or she should say, ‘Alhamdulillah’.
This means,‘All praise be to Allah (S.W.T)’.
After you hear the person who has sneezed say ‘Alhamdulillah’,
you should respond by saying ‘Yarhamukallah’. It means,‘may
Allah (S.W.T) shower His mercy upon you’.
The person who has sneezed will then say this dua to reply.
‘Yahdiykumullahu wa yuslihu baalakum’. It means, ‘May
Allah (S.W.T) guide you and set all your matters right’.
As Muslims, we should not sneeze into other people’s faces.

Hasbunallah wa ni’imal wakil
Hasbunallah wa ni’imal wakil means ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He
is the best disposer of affairs (for us)’.
We recite this phrase when we are weak and in difficult situations.
We also say it when our hearts are filled with worries.
This dua strengthens our Iman in Allah (S.W.T).
We say it when we are in a state of fear and anxiety.
When we say this phrase, it shows that we put all our trust in and
reliance on Allah (S.W.T).
Work to do
As a group, recite ‘Hasbunallah wa ni’imal wakil’.
Lahaula wala quwwatta illaa billahi
This phrase means that there is no might or power except that of
Allah (S.W.T).
We usually say,‘Lahaula wala quwwatta illaa billahi’ when we see
or hear something that is not normal.
It is also said when you see or hear something strange.
We say it to seek for forgiveness from Allah (S.W.T) when we have
committed a sin.

This means: Do not worry, it is a means of forgiveness from sins if
Allah (S.W.T) wills.

When we visit the sick, we should make our visit short and brief.
We should visit the sick as soon as we know about their sickness.
We should use encouraging words when talking to a sick person.
We should pray for the sick so that Allah (S.W.T) can heal them.
We should not cause disturbance to the sick.

Qibla is the direction that Muslims face while praying.

Eid-ul-Fitr
Activity
1. Recite the Takbira for Eid.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration on 1
st
of Shawwal to mark the end of fasting
of Ramadhan. Two rakaat are performed followed by a sermon.
We should prepare ourselves well before Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations by:
1. Cleaning our compounds and houses.
2. Paying Zakatul Fitr before going for Eid prayer.
3. Taking a shower.
4. Breaking the fast by eating dates or any other food before
going for Eid prayer.
5. Applying perfume.
6. Reciting Takbiratul Eid.
7. Performing prayers in congregation in an open field.

Muslims slaughter animals during this day to remember the incident
of Prophet Ibrahim.
He was commanded to slaughter his son, Ismail.
Allah (S.W.T) brought a sheep which Prophet Ibrahim slaughtered
instead of his son.
Muslims do the following activities during Eid-ul-Adh’ha:
1. They clean their houses and compounds.
2. They wear or apply perfumes.
3. They chant Takbiratul Eid after prayers.
4. They take a bath (ghusl).
5. They wear their best clothes.
6. They do not take breakfast until after Eid prayers.
7. They use different routes when going to pray and when coming
back to their houses.
8. They recite Takbira as they wait for the time of Swalatul Eid.
9. They pray two rakaats in congregation led by the Imam.
10. They listen to the Khutba (sermon) after the Swalah.

11. They sacrifice animals after the Eid prayer.

It means, ‘May Allah (S.W.T) accept from us and from you our good
deeds’.
